Lavender Fields Forever…

If there is anything to love about laundry, it is the lingering smell of a dryer sheet on your towel or sheets or T-shirts or… well, you get the idea. Over the last several years, I have heard "talk" about the synthetic chemicals used in dryer sheets. "Good to know" has been my typical response, but it didn't change my laundry mojo. However, I saw an article today featuring 5 small changes you can make to be "greener" AND save money. Number 1 on the list: Ditch the dryer sheet. My immediate reaction was: WHAT ABOUT THE STATIC? And here is what the article suggested:

Lavender Field

Add 1/2 cup of white distilled vinegar OR 1/4 cup of baking soda to your wash. This will eliminate static. For the laundry "freshness" that a dryer sheet adds, grab a small cloth and add a few drops of an essential oil to it. Toss it in with your load, and problem solved.

Turns out, I ran out of dryer sheets today so I am grabbing my favorite essential oil – LAVENDER – and trying this little recommendation! And I have to say, I am looking forward to a hint of lavender wafting through the air as I fold and fold…and fold.
