Over the last few months, I managed to pick up a few new additions to my nighttime viewing repertoire.

And never mind my long-standing obsession with
I LOVE these shows, and seriously look forward to them; yet, if I was going to guess what someone like me watched, I would be laying ALL my money on some design reality show or HGTV programming. And, of course, this got me to thinking…why am I so mesmerized by these people and not the others as much?
After some contemplation, here is what I came up with:
(1) They are each ENORMOUSLY good at what they do. Period.
(2) They followed their passions first, regardless of everything else, and now bask in the fulfillment of living their dreams out loud.
(3) There is a boldness to each show as well as the collective group of personalities that captivates me every week — specifically, their instincts, decisions, and confidence.
(4) They live on the edge by being EXACTLY who they are and not conforming to anyone's expectations.
Each show offers endless fascination for me. And when an episode is finished, I really feel like I have learned something or been inspired. Crazy? Maybe. But as long as they encourage me to live more unabashedly, I am going to keep coming back for more. And more. And more…
