What is style?

"Style is the perfection of a point of view." –Richard Eberhart

Style and perfection of POV

How lovely of an answer is that? Simple and succinct.

Why am I talking style? It is important to know what you love as you purge your home and prepare it for spring and the following months. And here's the thing…perfection is not attained overnight so understand this is an evolving process. A couple years ago, I was resolved that academia was for me. I was completing my Master's and I knew, just knew, I was going to get my Ph.D. and be a little ol' professor. Had that happened, I am certain I would have been happy. But delighted…I am not so sure. I fell into feng shui and intention during a rough patch (as I have mentioned), and I still really love learning more each day about it. Feng shui and its concepts are easy for me to understand, which only enhances my desire to learn more. You know the cliche "Follow you heart and the rest will follow…"? Well, there is undeniable truth to it.

What if you don't know the answer? First, be patient with yourself. I am just realizing what it is I love  – and while I still have a long way to go, I am on a path that brings me great content. And I wouldn't have figured it out until I started paying attention to everyone and everything around me, and asking many questions. Second, as you clear the clutter and clean, what do your things say to you? Tune into your feelings…do you feel happy, energized, and peaceful? Do you feel heavy, overwhelmed, and drained? Use your things and space to guide you and then remain open to your thoughts for the next few weeks. Don't worry if you come up with a bunch of dislikes…at least you know what you don't like anymore and that is HUGE.

I am of the belief we already know all the answers to our own questions…we just have to be quiet, listen, and give thanks. Try it…

…and let me know what you discover. I would love to hear from you!
