a thousand thanks | a return to gratitude

looking up the original source for “a thousand thanks” the other day {shakespeare just didn’t ‘sound’ right}, the first result in my google search was. . .

{hello, loving shove. and. remember all the polaroid pictures on my blog?}

i am somewhat diligent in keeping gratitude notes – lists in my journal, on my phone, often even in the margins of books i’m reading. but there is a bold presence to sharing gratitude with others. celebrating our ordinary details encourages others to take their senses off the low notes and focus on something better. and that mindfulness is how we begin a love affair with our own life.

so, how about a return to gratitude? i’ll start. . .

i am grateful for my lovely tribe + the LOVE within our home. this is the one thing in my life that always feels SO right and reminds me i am the luckiest.

i am grateful for friends – those confidences, relationships, conversations. each their own kind of wonder full.

i am grateful for hot coffee every morning. the ritual of it all is a predictable pulse point i relish.

i am grateful for silence, especially that quiet space first thing each morning. it is easily a favorite feeling.

and for sunrises + sunsets, dusk + dawn, and full moons. the sky is unapologetically devoted to her beauty.

i am grateful for ruby’s antics and affections. and how she keeps laughter moving through our home like a soft breeze.

i am grateful for the work i do – to be invited into someone’s personal space is a stunningly sacred privilege. and the transformations that happen are breath giving.

i am grateful for belly laughs that turn into tears. imaginations gone wild. and thriving creativity. especially when that mosh pit bounces here.

i am grateful for music + books. words + story. connection + universal threads. mostly, too, i LOVE when we share without taking it all too seriously.

i am grateful for intuition + discerning that still wisdom within me from all the chatter.

i am grateful to delight in my 5 senses every morning. to hear the birds preaching on the rooftop; witness the sun becoming the sky; smell the palo santo i light upon waking; feel the solid ground beneath my feet; and replenish my body with a glass of water. each is its own tremendous blessing.

i am grateful for peace where it exists; LOVE when it is courageous; generosity when it is quiet; and kindness when it’s rampant. and for every single soul striving to put more of this into the world.

and, i am grateful for the beauty i live every day – the sacred ordinary moments that are in constant interplay making mine an extraordinary life.

before the weekend takes the spotlight, what are YOU most grateful for right now?

say it. share it. savor it.
