Back to Basics

"The brook would lose its song if we removed the rocks."

–Wallace Stegner

Stream with rocks

Sorry for the lapse. I have spent the last week in bed with pneumonia. No, not a cold, not the flu, but pneumonia.

As I was "lounging," I had many thoughts as to why I was being plagued with something of this magnitude. I mean, I attracted this to me, right? I came across Stegner's quote — it gave me an inner peace. I adore simplicity. I find it most interesting through studying feng shui, natural health, and intentional living. And I have an unquenchable thirst to learn as much possible about all of these while finding every avenue I can to share with others. So, it would make sense that my illness was like the rock. It allowed me a different and better perspective on my life.

When you get sick, really sick, all bets are off. It is back to basics. You eat, you sleep, you survive. Never mind the projects waiting or the chores screaming to be done. It all has to wait…for you to get well. Getting sick reminded me that all the hoopla I create for myself interferes with the simplicity that energizes me. So, moving forward, I am going back to the basics. Simple feng shui, healthy living, and happiness…and along the way, I hope these basics allow you to make all the changes you desire in your life.

How simple is that?
