clutter isn’t just a mess…

where clutter gathers in your home is never random. it’s a statement about where your energy is being quietly siphoned – and I have found (with clients and students) knowing that can be both wildly revealing and deeply motivating.

so, let’s decode a few of the ways clutter might be costing you more than space:

no. 1: clutter at the front door or in your entryway often mirrors we feel blocked. progress slows and momentum stalls, which means you just can’t get where you want to go.

no. 2: clutter in the bedroom tends to tug at intimacy, connection, and the ease (or struggle) within your relationships.

no. 3: clutter in the kitchen? that’s tied to your nutrition and digestion, suggesting your overall vitality is taking a hit. and because the kitchen is also tied to money energy, it can be a quiet drain on your financial well-being, too.

no. 4: clutter in the bathroom disrupts elimination — not just physically, but emotionally. I say this often – if ‘letting go’ is hard, peek inside those cabinets, drawers, and corners and do a mindful edit.

no. 5: clutter in a basement often signals unresolved emotions and avoidance — the things we keep pushing off instead of processing. clutter in the attic suggests the weight of responsibility hanging overhead — and it’s usually heavier than you think.

no. 6: clutter in the garage can amplify procrastination and make the simplest tasks feel inefficient and overwhelming.

all that said…

whether it’s too many things squeezed into a space — or chaos lurking beneath the surface — here are my two signature questions to ask yourself:

what am I really trying to achieve in this space?

does what I’m keeping support or sabotage that vision?
