go heavy on the metal
if you know, you know I adore talking about and teaching the 5 Elements – anyone remember my 50 Shades of Shui class?
as a nod to the seasons changing, I’m sharing a little insight into Metal, the element linked to fall / autumn – a time of letting go and preparing ourselves for a little rest and renewal.
so, a couple quick personality traits to know about Metal:
it is the element associated with precision, order, and organization. when we need to “cut” through any chaos, get a little (or a lot more) focused, and/or make some decisions, it’s a great energy to work into our lives, so…
let’s talk about how it “shows up” in our homes and daily choices:
no. 1: metal itself: brass, copper, gold, silver, iron, stainless steel…
no. 2: the night sky, heavens and stars are associated with metal, so any symbols or artwork depicting them is two thumbs up!
no. 3: white is metal’s go-to color. this includes anything mixed with white, too, so don’t forget the pastels. metal also shines through in your golds, silvers, and anything metallic.
no. 4: gems, natural quartz crystals, geodes
no. 5: and here we are full circle – see what I did there? – with the circle shape that metal SO loves. this also includes half-circles, moon shapes, spheres – anything with that round feeling.
so, if you find yourself over the next few months – as the holiday hullabaloo kicks up its heels – needing a little more structure or feeling the pressure of making clear cut decisions, add a little Metal into your home, wardrobe or routine!
