Gold Amongst the Glitter…
One of the greatest tricks with opportunity is it can sometimes appear like defeat at first glance. When this happens, we quit or revert to our old way of thinking, essentially resorting to whatever we were doing before we had an idea, goal, or intention. However, huge promise awaits you on the cusp…if you persevere.
A couple weeks ago, I embarked on a worry fast. My goal was to think upward and onward for 30 days. While the first week went splendidly well, my second week was more crash-and-burn. It seemed one thing after another was going wrong. But here was the catch: I knew I couldn’t cave because I had publicly declared I was going to give it my all. So I moped around for 2 days and then decided I would absolutely pull myself together. Within a day, I was feeling good again. And as it turns out, week 3 has been just as fascinating for me as more opportunities are magically presenting themselves. Imagine if I had remained frustrated?
The lesson: Getting back on track – instead of derailing when our plans go astray – allows you to stay in the flow of your desires. When you become overly focused on what is going wrong, you step in the way of everything that is going well.
Napoleon Hill said, “There are no limitations to the mind except those we acknowledge.” When you hit a bump, as we all do from time to time, step back. Give yourself permission to relax. Ask yourself, “What is life trying to teach me?” PAY ATTENTION to what happens over the next several days. I suspect that if you do, you will start seeing the golden opportunities that lie amongst all the glittery distractions.
