Hello, again.

Hello, again.

Long time, no posts. And, for that, my apologies.

Something came to me yesterday as I attempted {and mildly succeeded} in making some very delicious Blondie brownies. The particular recipe I had my eyes upon called for heaping sums of ingredients. Which should have been my first clue I was, perhaps, out of my league. But that particular detail did not cross my mind until I was elbow deep in cookie/brownie + marshmallow/peanut butter chip dough. Things got, shall we say, sticky.

Prior to starting said brownies, everyone here was occupied. Content. Busy almost. As soon as flour began cascading around my kitchen, however, there were "needs." And the more I focused on finishing the task at hand, the louder the incessant chants of "I need this…" or "When are you going to…" grew.  And all I wanted was to get the most tenacious dough I've ever encountered off my hands and into the parchment lined pan. Never mind the spread the batter into the 12×18 sheet with a spatula part. {Which, by the way, was a joke.} Or the thin-ish layer of flour dusting every part of my kitchen and living room. {Of course, a sane person might expect this when a recipe calls for 4 cups of flour…clearly, I was operating without my wits.}

Trying to have 2 separate conversations while tallying up the damage I had just done to my house ALL THE WHILE desperately wanting the dough to stick to the pan and not. my hands. had me overwhelmed.

And it made me realize. Sometimes you just have to ask for a minute.

I like big ideas and bold notions. The kind that make butterflies swirl in your soul. And one of my genuine strengths is that once I start a project, I stick with it. Or, like the brownies, it sticks to me. However, I don't always prioritize my time as well as I should.

Fall Entryway 2010 (3)

And, so it is with this blog. Your patience has been incredible. My gratitude for that is enormous. I promised content for all the lovely categories on my navigation bar, like, 3 weeks ago. {Gulp!} And, I have hardly delivered. My intentions are real, and ideas blossom in my head every day. I promised you content. And content you shall have. Before the end of next week. Phew.

I will be showcasing my house this week. Right here. And in the spirit of sharing my know-how and how-to, it seems my home is the simplest place to start. You'll get a peek into my world of color + organization + shui…so stop by tomorrow. I promise to be here…
