Q & A: “I’m struggling to furnish my new home…”

Q: “I’m struggling to furnish my new, much larger home. It’s overwhelming to make design decisions, and I feel stuck—especially after so much change. Plus, I’m drawn to vintage, shabby-chic pieces and wonder if that’s a good Feng Shui choice. Thoughts?”

A: I want you to think of your home like a new relationship.

and like any new partner, it takes time to learn each other’s rhythms—what fits, what feels right, and how to move in sync. so, first and most importantly, give yourself permission to settle in, and then…

no. 1: start where it matters.

focus on the bedroom (your well-being), the kitchen (your health & wealth HQ), and the front door / entry (portal for auspicious luck!) first.

when the resources are there, I would prioritize finding a fabulous headboard / bed for your room; a dining table for the kitchen so your family can gather around it; and giving your entry a little of this initial dash of magic so more opportunities and luck can find you! here ’s why…

your bedroom will signal you prioritize taking care of yourself, and your house will follow your lead by taking care of and nourishing you! trust me, this is empowerment 101 when it comes to *programming* your home!

the kitchen and dining room table embody abundance. utilizing them both whisks up prosperity energy all around you.

the front door is the one space with the most influence in what “enters” your life, so it’s always an ‘efficient’ starting point for getting things off on the right step!

no. 2: remember Feng Shui isn’t about rules—it’s about resonance.

design is aesthetic. shui is energetic. if you love something, it’s already the right choice. your draw to vintage, earthy, worn-in pieces makes sense—it’s your subconscious craving stability amidst a world of uncertainty, so I would have you lean in and trust it.

no. 3: employ the elements Fire and Earth with these power moves.

punctuate your spaces with the element Fire (think soft pinks, candles, or a chandelier) to invite in warmth and momentum. by the way, Fire feeds Earth, which is grounding without the stagnation.

work with the element Earth – this helps us feel grounded, especially during times of transformation, and this sounds like exactly what you need before stepping into your next evolution.

one of my favorite expressions of Earth? rugs. they soften energy, define space, and set boundaries. and then, if / when things ever feel ‘stuffy’, you can roll them up for an instant energy shift.

your home is an investment—not just in what you buy, place, or perfect, but in the time, energy, and dialogue you build with it. the real magic happens in the quiet choices, the patience, the way you listen to what your space needs.

let it all come together on a slow, steady simmer. that’s where the real transformation unfolds. xo
