simple shui on KENS-5
i was on KENS-5 Sunday morning (bright and early!) to talk shui. the entire segment is just over 3 minutes, so definitely give it a watch! and if you want a quick recap of the tips shared, here you go!
incorporate a healthy plant or some fresh flowers into your surroundings. living things lift energy – which is a good counterbalance to the media diet we are all on right now. plants and fresh flowers literally clean the air, so keeping their company is a healthy choice. plants also reduce concentration-induced fatigue (something we’re all feeling from the COVID news loop); lower blood pressure; and boost feelings of positivity.
normally i say “if” but in light of COVID, let’s try this… WHEN your surroundings or space start to feel monotonous, move 27 items around. this little energy revival wakes up a space. and when we see things differently, it also helps us shift / change / consider a different perspective. keep it simple: move the couch or bed a few inches one way or the other; throw a rug into a different room; or switch out this season’s magazines for a stack of cookbooks.
walk your house, your space, even your room – every day – with an energy enhancer. we are accustomed to physically cleaning our spaces, but we don’t tend to the energetic clearing as much – or at all. the thing is, though, with us all being home and steeping in the conversations, job stress, loneliness and disconnect happening, we absolutely need to invest time into caring for the energy around us. again, simple is the route: light a Palo Santo stick. sing (or play music). ring a bell. peel an orange and leave a rind in each room for the day. spritz or diffuse your favorite essential oil. or, open a window.
energy enhancers layer positive energy in our space. so, think of this like a deposit in the bank – and who doesn’t like a little cushion in the account? this ritual adheres to the same concept. you’ll keep your deposit of high vibes steady by doing something daily. xo
