simple shui | q & a
for the love of shui, my inbox is filling with the most fabby questions ever! thank you! i love rocking my shui bliss. so, let’s answer a few of your Q’s here today. . .
I NEED CALM AMONGST THE CHAOS. // WHERE IS THE BEST PLACE TO START IN THE HOUSE?
if we were together for a consult, i’d ask you to tell me about your most favorite spot in the house and why.
this space is always a good starting point. when we have at least one space we LOVE, that feeling radiates throughout the rest of the home. it nourishes our nervous systems. and when we feel even a little better, we almost instantly attract calmer energy into our lives.
so, make your favorite spot current + fresh + reflective of who you want to become, not just where you’ve been. the imagery + photos + things in a space are either pushing us forward or pulling us back. trust me, you’ll step into an energetic sweet spot when you clear out anything you don’t LOVE. and once you *claim* this space, honor it as sacred. even if it is just a corner.
this client does a delicious job keeping little pockets of love throughout her home.
IN THE MIDST OF CHAOS, IS THE FRONT DOOR STILL THE MOST IMPORTANT PLACE TO START?
the front door is important, but if you feel surrounded by chaos, the other place {besides your favorite spot} i like to address is the center of a home. in feng shui, the center influences all the other energy areas under your roof, making it enormously important.
the center of my client’s home includes a wide + tall wall. i adore how the space was used — she’d written down her favorite song lyrics and showcased them in over-sized frames. simple, inexpensive, and full of LOVE.
for those of you with trickier spots, my center happens to be an arched hallway with a storage closet. so, i painted the closet yellow since that color represents health. my intention? if the center of our home is healthy, it will feed well being and balance into our home and lives.
find the very middle of your home and give it a good cleaning. make it appealing to you — this does not need to be fancy or elaborate. and have something in it you LOVE. again, when we anchor a space with LOVE, that feeling is amplified in our own lives.
IS THERE A DUMMY’S GUIDE TO FENG SHUI?
i’ve read just about everything on shui, but it is the first few books i ever read that i reference the very most. any of these would be a warm welcome into the wild world of shui.
