the lovelies | thirteen

it’s been a week since it happened.

and still.

it feels so abrupt.

i’ve been collecting moments over the years, stockpiling who you are + what i’m thinking with each new age.

but 13 has my attention, and i barely have words.

we face fewer years – you within reach – ahead of us than behind us. and time is ingesting those years quickly.

so, it’s a new beginning of sorts for us all.

and the intersection is this. . .

i LOVE who you are becoming so much. you’re making a room of your own, filled with light + shine + all that good stuff.

you don’t settle for ordinary – which means possibilities will always catch the light and your attention.

you hold space for each other unconditionally – a word often used but rarely felt. you two, however, are its breathing manifestation. side by side or knees to knees, you cover each other with gigantic LOVE.

you don’t edit yourself. ever. do you know how much this quickens my pulse? pleasepleaseplease keep taking up space with your BIG dreams + whimsical electricity.

you are comfortable in your own skin. whether you are gussied up with bright lippy or wearing every crazy pattern or shade of pink you have, you OWN your signature style. because you answer the call of what makes YOU feel fully alive.

i LOVE that you won’t lug around other people’s ideas if they rattle your cage. if something doesn’t resonate, you honor yourself by letting it go.

you’re the perfect mix of caution + adventure, learning to trust your own gut more. and if you look now, my sweet trailblazers, you’ll see how far you’ve tiptoed into following your own intuition.

it is pure magic to watch you confidently loving the world + flaunting your creative genius. so, while our eyes are on the horizon, my wish for you is this:

everything you are right now is good. but in the year ahead, it might collide with ideas of who you should be or how you should act. don’t tolerate any request or need for you to play small. those beliefs are inconvenient truths for some. but, you? if you keep giving it all you’ve got, my lovelies, the world is going to keep loving you back. almost as much as i do.
