What Are You Waiting For?

"Often a goal, once written, will materialize without any further effort on your part…
The more attractive you make whatever your ambition,
and the more you approach it in a spirit of fun, the more others will want to play along to make your dream a reality."
–Henriette Klauser

Pen and Paper

Pardon me for a moment, but I am going to get a little scientific to make my point. Your brain, my brain, everyone's brain has a group of cells at the base of the brain stem known as the Reticular Activating Center (RAC). It is a filtering system, sending urgent information to your active brain and directing the rest to your subconscious. We filter information every day, thanks to our RACs.

My favorite example of this: I LOVE black Range Rovers, and I can hardly go anywhere without seeing one. This has perhaps happened to you as well. You start thinking about something, and all of the sudden, you are seeing it or hearing about it everywhere. Now you know why! Once you have filtered information, you become far more focused without realizing it. This same group of cells is why mothers will wake in the middle of the night at the slightest sound from their child — they have, through the filter, tuned out everything else in order to hear a cry, a cough, a coo…

So what does this have to do with writing down your goals? The act of writing down your dreams, hopes, and intentions causes your RAC to go into overdrive filtering everything around you SO THAT you are more aware of any opportunity and possibility that will enhance your progression. Writing down your goals tunes you into signs that you might otherwise miss. So grab your pen and paper, start writing, and play with your frequency!
