30 front door shifts that change everything

your front door sets the tone for everything that enters your home, which is why your shui *should* start here…

there are 30 shifts I reach for again and again, but remember, you only need a few of these to conjure the kind of magic a little front door TLC can create.

no. 1: sweep – as I’ve said for-like-ever, if you can’t do anything else, sweep!

no. 2: give your front door a quick wash.

no. 3: anoint it with an essential oil – peppermint, cinnamon, frankincense or orange are house favorites here!

no. 4: flank it with plants.

no. 5: shake out your door mat. if it’s time, replace the doormat with a slightly bigger one!

no. 6: sprinkle salt across the threshold.

no. 7: blow cinnamon into your house from the front door.

no. 8: plant cinnamon sticks in the planters (or garden beds by the door).

no. 9: make sure the doorbell works, and ring it once a day.

no. 10: hang a set of windchimes outside your door – or hang a strand of bells from the doorknob inside. these live at my front door!

no. 11: paint your door a ‘that’s so YOU!’ color.

no. 12: place a red envelope with coins underneath your front door. (I LOVE these for their weatherly sturdiness!)

no. 13. write your intentions underneath your doormat.

no. 14: sprinkle rose petals or bird seed along the path to your front door. (if you have a bird feeder, I adore this blend!)

no. 15: keep a stick of selenite just inside the front door to keep the energy upright and bright!

no. 16: install a birdbath near the entry – locate it to the right of the door (if you’re standing outside your house looking in)

no. 17: add a pop of color, and make it irrefutable. bright planters, vivacious fresh flowers, or a front door wreath will do the trick!

no. 18: oil the hinges, if they squeak.

no. 19: make sure the door opens fully.

no. 20: replace any burned out lightbulbs, and turn on the porch lights at least once a day.

no. 21: nestle a couple protective crystals outside your door – black tourmaline, hematite, or obsidian always thrive here!

no. 22: build a mountain of gold.

no. 23: tuck a few lucky coins in the pots or beds on the porch or near your front door.

no. 24: put a water fountain on the right side of the door (if you are standing at the front door looking into your home).

no. 25: invite a pair of guardians to stand at your front door – hello, Fu Dogs!

no. 26: shine a bright light toward your front door.

no. 27: create a ‘sensory’ trail to your front door, if your front door doesn’t face the street.

no. 28: check the door knob and make sure yours is working well – especially if you’re trying to get a ‘handle’ on anything.

no. 29: take a quick look-see and make sure your house numbers are visible – during the day and night!

and most of all…

no. 30: USE IT DAILY!
