7 things I am loving | October 2025
it’s that time of year when everything feels like it’s turning – the light shifts, the air sharpens, and the season invites us to make space for what’s next. for me, that looks a lot like getting Saint Ritual ready for her debut while still tending to the rhythm of shui everywhere else.
in that spirit, I’ve been gathering stories and links that feel like small but powerful reminders of what Feng Shui really is: energy in motion, beauty woven into the everyday, and how our spaces shape us more than we realize.
so, consider these nods – to beauty, ritual, and a little design inspiration – all very much Simple Shui approved:
no. 1: Bloom & Plume shared a moment gifting flowers to a stranger – a reminder that we all could use a little beauty and more kindness in our lives.
no. 2: a new mom shared how she found a purse at Anthropologie, and the sales associate tucked money into it as part of a family tradition. in shui, we say: always gift a wallet or purse with a little cash inside – and you’ll “gift” steady abundance as well! (that is December 13th’s tip inside my book!)
no. 3: Porter Magazine noted that adding an unexpected pop of red will instantly elevate your style! I say finishing an outfit with a pop of red is a classic Feng Shui cue for visibility and vitality.

no. 4: House Beautiful explored how home renovations affect mental health – and because you’re here, my guess is you’re nodding along, like, “yes, your home is always shaping you!”
no. 5: Architecture Wave looked into why some spaces make us anxious and others heal – and that, too, is foundational Feng Shui principle and practice.
no. 6: House Beautiful spotlighted dark teal as the look of ‘expensive’ (at the moment). what I LOVE (and teach) is teal speaks to our environmental intuition. even better? it rates – time and time again – as the *most liked* color around the world!
no. 7: Porta designed a vase – called the Hugo Money Pot – with a slit just big enough for money deposits that can’t be removed without breaking it. so, if you’re looking for something to put in that Wealth corner of yours, this is a literal container for holding onto and accumulating wealth!
no. 8: over on Instagram, it’s the final weekend to vote in the #AGPGLOWUP contest. if you’re following Abby (and me), every guess you post gets you an entry – and one lucky winner will receive a 90-minute consult with House Therapist and designer, Abby Lane Design, and a little sweet treat from me! xo
