a client story: 6 years stuck. 7 days to a total transformation.

I want to tell you a story about my client “ready for a comeback”.

her mission? clear the clutter.

it was taking over her life. the sheer overwhelm kept her stuck. so, during our first consult, I coached her through decluttering one room.

and when we were done?

she felt a surge of motivation—ready to take this “template” and apply it to the rest of her home.

fast forward to a few weeks later – she reached out again.

and this time, she told me two things:

within one hour of our first consultation, one of her real estate listings sold. and not just any listing—a $1 million deal.

despite that success, she never followed through with the other rooms. the clutter took a heavier toll, and she was feeling even more drained, stuck, and depressed.

this time, there was urgency in her voice.

this is exactly why clutter is so insidious. we get comfortable with it, and we don’t realize the energetic cost until we feel well past lousy.

(back to her story…)

I gave her a new approach. two manageable strategies. daily, bite-sized progress—without the overwhelm. she wasn’t totally convinced, so I left her with this:

“you’ve been doing it your way for six years. you already know where that gets you. arent you a little curious what life feels like on the other side of all this stuff? will you give this a real try—long enough to push past your usual excuses and find out?”

she admitted she was curious, and that was all it took.

what started as hesitation turned into a miracle in motion.

here’s how it unfolded—in her words:

DAY 1: “I’m just trying not to get overwhelmed. the more I can actually get OUT of the house, the better.”

later that day…

“you know, I feel like anything that gets out is a huge win. it’s hilarious to see what’s been lurking around the corner.”

DAY 2: “it’s interesting. I’m facing all the ways I wanted to be or thought I should be—supplements, weight loss books, self-help everything. it’s like I was always searching. but here I am, today, in 2019—and the real question is: ‘what and who do I want to be now?’”

DAY 3: “no TV. no podcasts. just me, my things, and the search for myself.”

later that day…

“deep breath. one thing at a time.”

DAY 4: “for the first time, I feel like this is possible!”

DAY 5:“taking a 30-minute timeout, then back at it. my brain hates the mess, so I keep walking back to the places that are clear—it feels so good!”

later that day…

“in the mail today—out of the blue—a $500 CHECK!!!

DAY 6:“keeping myself going is the toughest part. messaging you helps—it gives me a place to send my progress!”

later that day…

“I realize this will take time, but my house is talking to me. and it says it is SO HAPPY! I so so so appreciate you—I’m doing the physical and emotional work, but you’re holding the space and cheering me on!”

DAY 7:“I can’t get over how everything is speaking to me—I feel led by something bigger. it’s no longer depressing or hard. oh, and I’ve lost five pounds, too!”

DAY 8:“the coincidences keep coming. and I had the most amazing experience at Whole Foods. the depression is lifting—and honestly? that is the biggest gift you’ve given me. tears of joy and deep bow to you.”

later that day…

“I’m still at it, and wow—I’m tired!but when I go out and run errands, I feel like a completely different person. it’s amazing! I’m seeing the world through new eyes. my brain got me started. and YOU. now, this is FUN. I finally have thinking space in my brain!”

one week and her world was feeling like pure magic and miracles.

and it all happened because she…

+ pushed past her tired excuses.

+ refused to negotiate with her clutter.

+ trusted the process.

+ hired the right support to get her there.

there are so many reasons to clear clutter—but the most important?

YOU.

so, the next time you stare down that closet (you know the one), stop making excuses and get busy – because on the other side of it?

more ease.

more clarity.

more you. xo
