house therapy | the color code for your front door
in Feng Shui, the front door is more than just an entryway — it’s the mouth of chi, the channel where energy and opportunity flow into your home. that means the condition, design, and yes, even the color of your door are shaping the kinds of experiences that find their way into your life.
in this week’s episode of House Therapy, I’m sharing one of my favorite conversations: what color should you paint your front door?
red doors? they invite recognition, vitality, and protection.
black doors? they suggest power, sophistication, and wealth.
white doors? they clear the slate and welcome new beginnings.
brown, yellow, blue, green, orange, grey… each has its own message about who you are and what you’re ready to receive.

now…
one of my favorite reminders: the colors we’re most drawn to are rarely random, so if a particular shade makes you break out into a case of the SMILES, even if it doesn’t fit your home right now, it’s worth exploring what it’s trying to tell you.
be sure to give this episode a listen to walk through the color wheel and unpack the symbolism, the real-life invitations, and even some practical perks (yes, even Zillow agrees with me on black doors). xo
