Knock Knock…

Opportunity passes your front door every day, and if she likes what she sees, she brings vital Ch'i (energy) to your doorstep. Feng shui dictates that the front door represents our relationship with the world. If it is welcoming and positive, you guessed it…that is exactly the kind of energy that shows up. Here are a few adjustments you can make today to help your front door, as well as the rest of your home, live up to its potential.

Blue Front Door

(1) Make the space both outside the door as well as immediately inside your home as inviting as possible.

(2) Look at your front door. What is it saying about you? Cut back anything that is overgrown and pull the weeds. Replace dim or burned out lighting with brighter bulbs. Wash your door. Buy a new doormat, or at the very least, shake out the one you are using now. Your goal is to make this area very attractive.

(3) Make sure your address is visible. How easily can I see it from the street…at night? Shine up your doorbell, door knocker, and the door handle. Again, the aim is curb appeal!

(4) Make your front path stand out by adding potted plants and colorful, fragrant flowers. Hang a wind chime. The more inviting the path to your front door, the more you will find inviting opportunities arriving in your life.

(5) Keep the front entrance clear. If the door cannot fully open, you are creating unnecessary hindrances in your life. If the door opens completely, the more open you are to unlimtied resources and opportunities.

(6) Most of us have back entrances we primarily use — think: garage. I would suggest making it inviting as well. HOWEVER, the front door still needs to be used as IT is where ch'i gathers and enters your home. Make it a routine to open your front door at least once a day. And when you do, welcome bounty and abundance into your life.

By taking a few minutes to update your front door and using it daily, you are making it easy for the good life to find its way to you!
