your red-to-toe inspo!
in almost any shui conversation I have, at least once you will hear me say that red is a powerful and auspicious color that entices and emphasizes energy in a space. (in fact, with a new year right around the corer, it will come up a lot.)
so, here’s a little red-to-toe inspo:
no. 1: red is the color of Fire, and Fire is the element known to incur passion, suggest warmth and entice vivacious energy. when we introduce red into a room, it ‘heats’ the place up and immediately brings more vibrancy and enthusiasm to the surface.
simple shui suggestion: dot your house with 3 small vases of red blooms (carnations, roses, ranunculus, etc.). start at the front door (entry), work your way to the kitchen or living room, and drop the last one in the bedroom. this is one of my favorite ways to get the pulse beating when it seems like nothing is happening.
no. 2: red has long been heralded a color of abundance and prosperity, so use it to spark financial opportunities and invite success your way.
simple shui suggestion: spotting a cardinal means good news to anyone in the communications field, especially writers! seeing any red bird means big business and good luck, so consider hanging a bird feeder outside or sprinkling bird seed along the path to your front door (or building door).
no. 3: red stimulates life force, so it can be a great collaborative energy when we want to improve the overall well-being and vitality of any space.
simple shui suggestion: grab a few red ribbons and tie them to your indoor plant or tree branches. just be sure to do this with a corresponding intention so that this “ornamentation” is working in your favor!
no. 4: red suggests romance, right? whether we’re catcalling LOVE our way, desiring more passion or wanting to strengthen our LOVE connection, red revs that up!
simple shui suggestion: if you are married and looking to turn up the dial on love (or lust), red peonies in your living room will push that agenda. peonies in the bedroom, however, have potential to attract youthful distractions outside the relationship — so, be aware of their placement.
if you are single and looking for LOVE, put a bundle of peonies in your living room. however, choose softer hues of pinks instead of red (which could mean a new relationship sizzles and then fizzles).
no. 5: as a powerhouse color, red is believed to protect a space and ward off unwanted or negative energy. so, a little dollop of it around your home or within your space will act as a shield.
simple shui suggestion: keep a dash of red at the front door or inside the entry. alternatively, don a red bracelet or red string on your left wrist – which is believed to protect you by creating its own energetic barrier.
one important note: red is a force with many flexes, so moderation is how you manage its intensity. too much red, and you might feel overwhelmed, consumed, more critical, even explosive. work with it thoughtfully and you will ensure its energy comes through in specific-to-you and delightfully supportive ways! xo
