5 ways to turn your luck around

every home goes through a lull, ours included. and whenever I sense that happening, I almost *always* turn to shui for a little energetic CPR.

so, if your feel your luck is in a lurch, borrow a page from my practice and start with the little things:

no. 1: take action. (that’s why I adore shui – there’s usually something I can do!)

no. 2: act with intention – this is the shui secret sauce to align your conscious action with the subconscious.

no. 3: the bigger the shift you need, the bigger the change you make. how? aim for memorable, not dramatic. I am not looking for bold or reckless risks required; however, I am nudging you to make a change that doesn’t disappear into the everyday.

and on that note…

here are 5 quick rituals to reawaken your space (and your luck)…

TIP ONE: MOVE SOMETHING

in general, I recommend rearranging your furniture at least once a year. even if you just move it to clean underneath and then put it back, that counts.

why it works: moving your furniture moves your luck. energy loves movement, and it literally gets things unstuck.

alternative: change something. movement is movement, so swap around a couple lamps, shift a throw pillow (or two), or hang new drapes.

TIP TWO: WAKE UP ANY SLEEPY CORNERS

add a plant or fresh flowers. bring in a lamp. hang bells or chimes. or, simply use the space – play music, host a game night, or have a conversation there.

your presence is juicy Yang energy. it reactivates corners where life and luck may have grown stale.

alternative: add a punch of color. color is hard to ignore, so suddenly a space that gets overlooked or forgotten gives main character energy!

TIP THREE: OPEN THE WINDOWS (OR DOORS)

fresh air = fresh chi, so let the old energy out and invite the new energy in. it’s a quick reset that clears emotional cobwebs and invites opportunity to circulate again.

alternative: breathe chi into your space!

TIP FOUR: (RE)ENERGIZE WITH SCENT

incense, candles, essential oils – whatever delights your senses.

I’m partial to vetiver right now: earthy, warm, and instantly grounding. scent works fast because it reaches the oldest part of your brain. you know, the one that remembers how it feels to breathe again.

alternative: one of my favorite rituals EVER – say hello to the fragrant flower ritual! I’ll personally be doing this one here at home and Saint Ritual in November.

TIP FIVE: KEEP THE LIGHTS BRIGHT AT YOUR ENTRANCE

your front door is the mouth of chi where luck, opportunity, and new beginnings find their way in. a well-lit entry says, “we’re open for auspicious luck and abundance.”

alternative: accentuate the welcome at your front door with one of these!

and on that note…

know that your luck isn’t ‘lost’. oftentimes, it simply needs a nudge. as simple as it might sound, when you move something, light something, or open something up, you are reminding your home (and yourself) that change is welcome here.
