celebrating the LNY? read this.
this is always a busy time of year for me.
I have clients who keep me on retainer, so we refresh their home and office shui every time this year, which means…
I am running all over the place and writing up reports and doing the thing I LOVE – Feng Shui!
so, in the spirit of the Lunar New Year and sharing a few peeks into what my consultation suggestions this time of year might include, here are a few symbols that could be ‘zee perfect addition to your home (or office) in 2025…
a horse represents perseverance, prominence and (possibly) promotion. since it stimulates and accelerates recognition and success, it pairs well with any career goals and business opportunities on your horizon this year!
a wealth vase symbolizes abundance and prosperity, attracting financial opportunities. composed of elements that all hold wealth energy, it is usually discreetly tucked away in either the wealth corner or Southeast area of a home (or room).
I-Ching or Chinese lucky coins – especially those tied with red ribbon – symbolize wealth and prosperity. I like to tuck them all around a home or office to attract financial opportunities.
a money tree is associated with wealth and luck because each stem often has five leaves – symbolic of the five elements – and invites a more harmonious flow of energy wherever it is placed. it also represents the ability to weather challenges, making it a powerful presence when steady financial growth is top of mind!

a laughing Buddha is a personal favorite of mine. when placed near the front door, he wards off bad vibes and dissolves stress, which creates room for auspicious energy to flow into a home (or office). he also attracts abundance, luck and good fortune. I LOVE to see him at the front of a home, in a wealth corner, or among the company kept in a living room. one placement note here: do not put him on the floor or in the bathroom.
the Chinese word for orange sounds like “success” and is similar to the word for gold, which is one reason oranges are a symbol of financial prosperity. during the Lunar New Year, it is custom to eat oranges (or satsumas) after dinner because it invites the sweet life and luck into the year ahead.
Fu Dogs (or guardian lions) protect against negative energies and should be placed at the front of your home or office – always looking out the door. they are also considered a sign of wealth and prestige, so they simultaneously invite new opportunities into your life. my favorite offering of theirs: they also happen to be a great way to invite a yin yang balance into a house.
crystals are masters at transforming the energy within your surroundings. certain crystals, like citrine and amethyst, are believed to attract wealth, success, and new opportunities. so, whether you place them in a corresponding gua (think: crystal energy meets gua energy) or in the wealth vase, choose what most aligns with your goals this year. xo
