simple shui | follow your feel good

two things i LOVE: inspiration to follow our feel good and Sarah Seidelmann. i’m super lucky to have collaborated with Sarah over the years. her books, her shamanic work, her life story allll fascinate me. so, when her latest newsletter showcased her Feng Shui in full swing, i was almost as sun-bursty as this room of hers.

i have talked about it many times on the blog, most recently here. our space is meant to bring us joy. and when we lock ourselves into notions of what *it should be*, we miss out on feel-good vibes at our fingertips. so, if you’ve contemplated changing a room, painting a door, or moving EVERYTHING around, here is your nudge!

and thank you, Sarah, for using your home as metaphor on how we can follow our feel good with a few simple moves!

STRAIGHT FROM THE SHAMAN

“i am a firm believer in the power of our spaces to shape our lives. i’ve been an informal practitioner of Feng Shui (or ‘Feng Schwing!’ as i like to call this ancient art of sacred space making) for decades. and i had a private consult with Amanda that helped me to work with this house when we moved here.

this Spring, i’ve had a hankering to make more room for yoga and dance in my life. too much writing and sitting has made me inflexible.

as i contemplated our home, i realized we weren’t using this room (pictured below) much and, if i slid the couch into the next room and packed up a few things, it could be come more studio-like.

it took about 45 minutes total and now it feels wonderful!”
