A Creative Affair

I find color visually arresting. And well-executed order captivates me. It is part of my DNA. Really.

I share this because the design projects I am showcasing today did NOT begin as client + designer. Not even close. I am NOT formally a designer. My confidence gravitates more towards creating order out of chaos…and so…when I offer to rid a space of surplus clutter, I often use my own home as portfolio. What has evolved over the years has been absolutely unpredictable. Clients come to my house, and they immediately respond to its colors. And composition. And character. And I find myself embracing an unexpected but exciting "design" project.

I think of myself as a "sherpa" now. I accept design projects {carefully} but require my client's collaboration. 100%. I trust my sense of color + relish my ability to organize + channel inspiration easily, and I happily offer all of these in any project. Creating a vibrant "feeling" that expresses a signature style, however, demands an I-push-you-pull approach. And, each of these studios exemplifies this process.

Next week, I'll share the project details behind each. But, for now…a sneak peek…as promised.

Studio one…

and studio two…

Whatever the project, my expectations remain the same: persuade clients to give more of who they really are through their homes and spaces + celebrate the process of its creation along the way!
