good reads
I began the morning making a list. Possible posts for the week. And the very last notation was Write down a favorite line from every book read.
The card with my scribbled list was set aside, quickly covered with all the other things competing for my attention.
Until.
Moments ago, one of the lovelies and I were curled up on the couch. Each of us with a book in hand. Reading as the summer heat blazes outside.
My lovely finished her book. And without hesitation said, "The last part was my favorite. Because it said {and she read this out loud}…
She opened doors for women all over the world. She was a pioneer who said, 'You can do anything you decide to do.'"
That was a really good moment. The book did precisely what good books do — they shift views, elevate thinking, and leave lasting impressions. Even better? My lovely reminded me why I was inspired to write down my favorite line out of every book I read.
Seems to me, today has come full circle.
