wisdom is prevention

when I started practicing shui in our home, my changes were all cosmetic.

I didn’t *get* space clearing or the 5 elements, so I avoided them all.

I also knew nothing about chi challenges.

curiosity eventually got the better of me, and I cleaned our home top to bottom. I bought flowers and candles for every room. I scheduled play dates for our daughters and asked my husband to give me a couple hours alone at home. I wrote down every intention I had for our lives, and then off I went to do our home’s (and my!) first space clearing.

it was magic.

a couple weeks later, I was talking with a fitness instructor. she mentioned knowing the previous owners and shared how unhappy they’d been in the home – fighting constantly over money, kids, and everything else. after selling the house (to us), they divorced.

my mind was in full-tilt WHOA!

while we luckily hadn’t divorced, our first year in this home remains the only time my husband and I have ever said the “d” word to each other.

and it became my own testimony of why space clearing is imperative, especially if you’ve never done it.

eventually, I enrolled in a professional Feng Shui certification course – and when the teachers said they would address the bagua at the end of the program, I felt off-center. wasn’t it the starting point?

when one of my instructors started weaving the 5 elements into every conversation, I wanted to protest. this was out of my comfort zone, but I really wanted to understand shui so I pushed up my sleeves and dug in.

that was a steep learning curve, and it became one of the most exhilarating parts of shui for me to work with and now teach!

when I enrolled myself in another professional program, imagine the surprise I felt being introduced to chi challenges. I was startled by (a) how many “problems” our home had; and (b) how I’d been focusing on temporary fixes when the real culrpits were something else completely.

like most people new to shui, I thought if I could get my house looking “just right”, I would be able to avoid most BIG challenges, problems, disappointments – you know, life lessons.

turns out, that’s not the practice.

instead of gathering all the tips and quick fixes, I realized that any hope of prevention lies in understanding the wisdom.

shui-curious people spend so much time pushed around (even scared) by Feng Shui that they learn on Google or some post they scrolled past.

the thing is – there’s nothing out of your reach to fix, improve, mitigate or enhance.

the only thing missing is an understanding.

that’s where I come in.

I am currently teaching my course live to MAGNIFY the good already within your home. (class just started this week, so you can watch the replay and be totally caught up!)
