simple shui | a lesson in flow

it seems this time of year when out-of-pocket expenses begin rivaling any money coming in.

things just get tight.

and with the holidays howling in the near distance, it can be a herculean event keeping everything running smoothly.

so.

if this resonates, it is an ideal time to look around your home and see if the experience of things feeling tight is anchored somewhere environmentally.

let me illustrate.

i noticed last week in our kitchen — an area symbolic of wealth — that our table bulldozed the space where it sat. swallowed it whole. and while we’ve had this configuration for years, it dawned on me that taking out a table leaf and a couple chairs would allow extra room around our table edges, creating a more comfortable flow.

feng shui translated means wind-water. imagining either element in your home, how much room would they actually have to flow around your space? because when we have tight or restricted spots in our house, we often encounter the same experience in our lives.

without hesitation, we took out a table leaf, providing wider berth to pirouette around the room.

we moved 2 of the 6 chairs away from the table. and since 4 happens to be the number associated with this space, it felt like a flourishing move.

and we threw down a blue rug because blue is a wealth color.

all the while silently intending for optimal cash flow over the months ahead.

we’ll see what happens on my side of the street.

meanwhile, i encourage you to dive deep here. ponder something you’d like to see change. get gritty with your descriptions. and then go look for that metaphor in your home. chances are you can calibrate some mega-watt change with only a few small measures.
