simple shui | is your home in your corner?

e’rryone ringing in the new year with intentions + ambitions + dreamy destinations in mind? let me ask: have you ever included your home in the process? our homes are alive as we are and want to partner in manifesting all that goodness with us. so, if you’ve never considered this possibility, i have a dose of shui for you!

grab yourself some paper + a pen + a sliver of quiet time…and then…think about your space + how it feels, both right now and over your time together.

now, let’s begin your letter. i realize few people name their house, but if a name comes to you, consider it inspired and go with it! if not, simply begin with ‘Dear House/Casa/Chateau…’

in the spirit of gratitude, write down reasons you’re thankful for your space. even if the space isn’t your cuppa or it’s a temporary spot or you *think* there is nothing great about it, dig for the gratitude: it offers refuge; it keeps you warm; it is an opportunity to leave a space better than you found it… let me see your gratitude muscles!

once you have a few “+” qualities listed, end this letter with one goal you are committed to doing in 2019 for your space. maybe it’s having the windows professionally cleaned. perhaps it is dedicating a creative +/or working space for yourself. it could be taking the paint plunge and transforming the walls with colors you LOVE. it might be accumulating and arranging that *i die* gallery wall. possibly this is your year to purge the clutter.

choose a project that feels a little out of reach – something you want to do but you don’t prioritize because of time, cost, or effort required.

one more thing: share it in the comments below so we can cheer each other on!

once you land between exhilaration and *i have no idea how i am pulling this off!*, sign your name and read the letter out loud. when you’re done reading it, place it somewhere you can re-read it once a week – your journal, a drawer you use daily, or as this year’s official bookmark for any paperbacks in your forecast!

take your time. resist that internal censor. and you’ll discover your home is (and always has been) in your corner! xo
