simple shui | turning negatives into positives

i see the world around us in energy. for me, energy is our universal language. and with so much fear afoot in all corners of our planet, it’s tempting to run for cover right now. dark energy is certainly kicking up its heels, but i believe we each possess a mighty world of strength and power within us. and we can use our homes to tap into that source daily, drawing personal strength from our havens. so, if you’re feeling unsettled or worried, here are a few rituals i use all the time to scour away low vibes. because feeling safe is absolutely necessary for us to be authentic + creative + fully ourselves.

trace your home with white light – imagine a white light at your front door. trace it clockwise through every room + closet + nook of your house. feel the white light expanding to fill the entire room, and eventually the entire house. once you are done inside, take the light outside and trace it around the perimeter of your property. when the light has traveled your entire space, know that you are protected. end this visualization with “and so it is.” {i like to do this every night before i go to bed; it’s also a favorite ritual the lovelies have adopted into their own nightly routines. it feels slow at first, but stay with it and you’ll be whizzing through your house like the flash in no time!}

use your trees – there is a strong magnetic energy field around trees, and the larger/older the tree, the stronger its field. face any tree on your property and hold out your hands about 2 – 3 inches from the bark. see if you notice an energy exchange. once you do {and so long as that energy exchange is “+” and welcoming}, put your hands on the trunk and ask the tree’s spirit to watch over you + your family + your house. release any fear or worry into the tree – it can receive this energy unharmed + will graciously absorb it for you. once you are done, thank the tree and end the *conversation* with “and so it is.”

trees + feng shui + simple shui

get salty – salt is recognized universally as one of the simplest and most common purifiers. i prefer rock or sea salt. rock salt is from the Earth, so it provides grounding reassurance, especially when we need balance and support. sea salt comes from the ocean, so its water properties make it good medicine for emotional healing. whenever things feel “off”, sprinkle salt around your rooms; across thresholds (the transition from one room into another); and in corners. leave it for 24 hours, and the salt will absorb and cleanse low energy. after 24 hours, sweep or vacuum it up and throw it in an outside trash. repeat as often as necessary.

when we observe simplicity daily, it sets a powerful tone and opens up more room for us to move through life. which is why i believe it is always the simple stuff that helps us most when making sense of things. especially right now.
