hello, March!
it’s another garden fresh month, and I do adore the exhilaration of spring in the air, so here’s a little TO DO inspo for you…
TIP ONE: go green!
normally, I LOVE encouraging adding green chi in the house or around the yard, but this year, I am nudging us all to up our green intake – as in, find a favorite new salad or green smoothie.
now, if the mention of leafy greens / drinks has you pausing, a little light on why you might want to give this a go:
green is associated with new beginnings and growth.
it is a steroid, if you will, for creativity.
it is refreshing – fostering good health, soothing our nerves, and lowering blood pressure.
and my personal favorite, green strengthens will power, which all sound D E L I C I O U S !
TIP TWO: declutter your phone apps
creating more room in your life extends to breathing room in your digital spaces, too. so, give careful consideration to any apps and “noise” you don’t need; delete accordingly; and you’ve created new pathways (for ideas, opportunities, even luck!) to reach you!
BONUS: extend this to your inbox and online files
spend 10 minutes at the end of each day clearing / deleting emails and folders, and you will make enormous progress without the dreaded side effects of digital overwhelm. (I aim for 2-3 days a week.)
TIP THREE: hang a wind chime
one of my first shui teachers taught us wind chimes harness wild grace (her word for wind) and pool its abundance in our spaces, so chimes can be a beautiful reminder that there is this “replenishment without diminishment” coming into our lives.
it just so happens that’s exactly what I teach here, so imagine my delight when a BYOFSC student recently shared with me this:
“I have them on all the corners. I can sit inside and it sounds like my house is singing to me. It’s the most magical thing I’ve done for my home.”
TIP FOUR: make the floors and counters off-limits to storage
this suggestion has a few flexes, if you will…
first, energy goes where the eye goes – so keeping things off (or on the light side on) these surfaces simultaneously keeps our energy from plummeting down to it.
second, floors and countertops can morph quickly into clutter havens. however, when we strive to clear those consistently, it makes our home feel more spacious immediately. how’s that for practical magic? by the way, that translates into feeling the same way with our schedules and lives.
finally – for anyone with littles or teens at home – this TO DO now gives you plenty of warm up before summer vacation is here. get everyone into this routine while the spirit of spring cleaning is in the air, and you might find by summer, the kids are in the habit of putting their things away (a little more than usual!).
TIP FIVE: buy yourself flowers!
‘tis the season for bloomies – so, splurge. I just treated myself to 5 bouquets of baby’s breath ($2.99 / bundle) and created a natural high visual! xo
need a few more ideas? check out last year’s post.
southern hemi friends, this one is for you!
